This image is captioned "Sammy at Guam July 1945" in John Hanan's scrapbook. The co-pilot of Crew 12 was Ens. Sam Heublein. On July 21 the McCutcheon crew was shot down, with six KIA and seven wounded survivors. Ben Slack received serious injuries to his knees, so it may be likely that Ben is the patient recuperating in this photo.
